Whilst a mechanical connection (such as an undercut) can help adhesion between two plastics, a chemical adhesion is preferred. Not all plastics are able to form chemical adhesion between each other, which can then lead to peeling of the overmoulding over time.<\/p>\n<p>Materials widely used in overmoulding as substrates include ABS, Polypropylene, and nylon. Often TPUs or TPEs are used to overmould onto these substrates.
